This Summer I'll be working here with Dr. Bandler in Florida.
Florida is at the heart of Scientific Research, Neurology, & Human Brain Advancement Technologies (as well as NASA & the Space Program!). I have previously lived and worked in Kazakhstan for the United Nations - another Hotspot for scientific research, brain technologies, & space advancement. In fact, the first person in space, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in the desert steppe of Baikonur, Kazakhstan, on April 12, 1961.
I'll be furthering my learning in Neurology, learning off the BEST of the BEST and studying hard! It's not going to be an easy ride - BUT if you really want something you have to work hard at it! You have to be committed! And most importantly, you have to GO for it!!
I'm looking forward to honing my skills even further as a hypnotist, a hypnotherapist, a Mentor for those facing incredible challenges and adventures ahead, and delving deeper into the world of neurology and brain science!
The Artemis program will send the first woman and the next man to the Moon by 2024 and develop a sustainable human presence on the Moon by 2028. The program takes its name from the twin sister of Apollo and goddess of the Moon in Greek mythology.
I can't wait for the adventures ahead...
Watch this space...

Overcoming Addiction & Trauma; Psychotherapy Vs. Hypnotherapy.
Over recent years I have noticed that some of my clients are actually psychiatrists and psychotherapists. People who work in the same field as I do: Therapy.
And who have had countless hours of psychotherapy themselves for a variety of issues, as well as for their own professional development and regulated Supervision sessions.
I soon began to realise and thus question that if psychiatrists and psychotherapists were actively seeking out myself, a clinical hypnotherapist, then perhaps my own specialism and indeed hypnotherapy was able to offer something much more than they could offer themselves, and others, from their own field of therapy.
In addition to this, professionally, I have my own connections with two colleagues, both psychiatrists (one living in Norway, and the other in Sweden), who are now qualified hypnotherapists in their own rights, choosing the latter as their preferred form of therapy for treating their patients in their respective countries...
And so I decided to research the matter further and to delve deeper into this area to find out exactly why this is.
I came across an article in The American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis entitled: ‘A Comparative Study of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy in the Treatment of Methadone Addicts’, (American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis Vol. 26, Issue 4).
The link to the full article may be found below.
I mostly work with clients suffering from such issues, my specialisms being drug & alcohol addiction, trauma (PTSD), depression, and anxiety; and so knowing about this field meant that considering this comparison and study might help me explain, and thus inform the general public further, the benefits and differences between the two types of therapy.
The experiment consisted of a Control Group and an Experimental Group (the latter group receiving hypnotherapy). The conclusion to the study highlighted a far greater success rate for recovering drug addicts who had hypnotherapy, as opposed to those only receiving psychotherapy. The Hypnotherapy group experienced less pain, less discomfort, and had a significantly higher number of successful drug withdrawals at the 6 month follow up meeting / appointment (94%).
However, no real reason was given as to why this was the case.
Having been a clinical hypnotherapist for many years now, and having worked with hundreds of clients, my empirical evidence demonstrates 100% success, exactly in line with what the study proves.
However, as all good hypnotherapists know, legally, by law, I can never guarantee a client a 100% success, despite knowing this 100% success rate deep down to be the case.
So how do we as professionals inform the general public as to the benefits of hypnotherapy?
I work with clients from hospitals, residential & rehab centres, and also individuals and private clients recommended to me from their friends, family and colleagues all over the world.
And my belief is that the best way to inform people is by continued good practice, delivering client success, professionalism and integrity, and amazing, awe-inspiring results!
Changed and transformed lives speak much louder than anything else.
Later this year, I will be endeavouring to undertake my own research project to take this evidence and research one step further.
I do believe that scientific research and best practice is one way of enabling the general public to be adequately and accurately informed of the biological, neurological, mental, emotional, and physical effects, benefits, and outcomes of clinical hypnotherapy.
Illnesses, and related issues, such as addiction, trauma, PTSD, anxiety and depression, can all be effectively treated and resolved, enabling people to get back onto the road of recovery towards a future of health, wellness, and mental well-being.
If you would like to find out more about my future research project, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you.
Rebecca Jones
Addiction, trauma, and anxiety are some of the most common issues and problems faced by people in today's busy, stressful and challenging society.
And often, a client who is an addict may also be experiencing anxiety. Or vice versa, a person suffering from trauma or anxiety, may also be developing (or already have) an addiction.
Clinical hypnotherapists are seeing an ever increasing number of clients facing these issues such as addiction, trauma and anxiety. And when you consider what we all have to manage, juggle, and combine in our lives, then actually, initially, it is no wonder people are suffering and are crying out for help.
With our demanding bosses, fast-paced jobs, gruelling hours, spinning plates, frenetic lives, and all this combined with family commitments, financial worries, Brexit uncertainty, a lack of job security, kids, school, relatives, housework, relationships, friends, social media pressures, and with limited free time and time just for us - we can often feel at breaking point, lost and alone, or at worst, suicidal.
Sometimes we make a cry for help.
Sometimes we can call a friend, speak to a family member, or see a coach or a therapist.
But sadly, more often that not, many people turn to the bottle, cocaine, sex, the credit card, gambling, drugs, food, self-harm, or something else, something worse.

Why?
Every person's reason for making a cry for help, or wanting to escape, is different, as we are all different individuals with our own unique make up and background.
Everyone's life story is different.
But some common themes emerge in hypnotherapy sessions as to why a client may be experiencing difficulty in their lives, feel anxious or perhaps dealing with an addiction.
Here are some (not all) of the reasons why someone may try to escape life's stresses and challenges using drugs, alcohol, or something else:
a childhood issue, a family breakdown, a divorce/broken relationship, loss of job/finances, low self-esteem, an accident/injury/loss of health, poor health/disease, a traumatic experience/post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)depression/anxiety, loss of a child/sibling/parent/family member, work pressure and demands/school and exam stress, lack of confidence/motivation, relationship issues, social media pressure/comparing our lives with others, war/terrorism/disaster. etc...
There are more reasons not listed here why people may feel anxious, depressed, wanting to escape (often through an addiction), or commit suicide.
Everyone's life story is different and unique.
But help and support is available.
How can hypnotherapy help?
Using clinical hypnotherapy clients can experience a two-part approach where not only is the negative aspect of their life removed, (e.g. an addiction or PTSD), but in addition, the void created by the addiction being removed is filled with something new in their life, something positive or exciting for their lives, and something which will enliven, reboot, and energise your life once more.
This two-pronged approach means that after your therapy sessions you do not just leave having beaten your addiction or anxiety, but you also leave having gained something new and positive in your life too.
You not only leave having beaten your trauma, but you gain a new you!
You not only leave having beaten your addiction, but you gain a new dream!
You not only leave having beaten your anxiety, but you gain a new life!
What is it that you have always wanted to do, be, have, or achieve in your life?
Now you can do it!
Clinical hypnotherapy and research has proven its success of eliminating and combatting addictions, anxiety, and trauma, alongside beating mental health issues at the same time.
A negative issue is removed whilst also improving your mental wellness and well-being.
And thus building a lighter, brighter and happier new you.
Please remember that help and support is available for you.
Beat your problems. Build a new you!

Be Your Own Intelligent Agent
What is artificial intelligence?
These days most of us have heard of AI, or artificial intelligence. In this article I will look at what it is, how it can be used, and whether it can be used to replace clinical hypnotherapy as we know it.
AI is defined as intelligence demonstrated by machines. Artificial intelligence also speaks of intelligent agents: any device that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximise its chance of successfully achieving its goals.
Artificial Intelligence is in fact an area of computer science in which computer systems are able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making and translation between languages.
So, can AI replace what we as humans do? Can AI replace, and ultimately beat, our own intelligence? Can AI replace the role of clinical hypnotherapy to resolve people's issues and problems, and mental health matters? Can AI replace the role of clinical hypnotherapy to improve people's lives; boosting people's confidence, self-esteem, motivation, and more?
In short: NO.
AI cannot replace a human's intelligence, nor can it beat it, and here's why...
The power of our unconscious mind is beyond anything that any machine, AI machine or intelligent agent could achieve, and since research has proven that we only use a very small part of our brains and unconscious minds, the reality is that we can achieve so much more than we ever believe we could, as well as far exceeding any machine or robot.
The myth that we only use 10% of our brains is of course not true, and the reason that it has been claimed to be a myth is that we actually do not know the exact figure of how much of our brains we do use. Researchers have stated that in fact it is more likely that we only know about 10% of the brain, rather than only using 10% of the brain.
The brain is so vast, complex, and undiscovered that scientists, surgeons, and neuroscientists claim that our knowledge of the brain to date only scratches the surface. Our knowledge of the brain is only the very tip of the iceberg.
The untapped power of our unconscious minds therefore means that it could be quite possible that we are only using approximately 2% of our brains, and that the remaining 98% of our brains is still unexploited and unused, waiting to be discovered...
This untapped potential in our unconscious mind is an infinite resource that, if used, can be life-changing and fully transformative. So how can we tap into this inner resource and how can we use it? Clinical hypnotherapists know more than most about the unconscious mind, and about the power of this untapped resource, and what it can achieve. I have seen clients change their lives in a matter of minutes, because that is all it takes, and even though there is so much of the unconscious mind that we don't understand, we can still tap into it, we can still tap into this unknown resource, and use it to our advantage.
Used correctly, we can use clinical hypnotherapy to change our lives and transform, to resolves issues and problems, and to create ourselves with a renewed sense of vigour, confidence, eagerness and enthusiasm, as well as creating our dream life from a place of calm.
So why can't AI do this for us?
The reason that artificial intelligence cannot do this for us is that it is not human. Full stop. Innately, human beings are all born with all of the inner resources that we will ever need, whether this is love, confidence, motivation, and so on...
Machines and robots are not.
As humans, we sometimes (and often) forget that we have all these resources to hand, deep inside us, deep within us, and we forget how to find them, how to access them, and how to use them.
During hypnosis and hypnotherapy we can re-programme our brains, and remind our unconscious minds of these untapped inner resources, and then we can begin using them again, enjoying them once more. It really is that simple. An artificial intelligent agent, or a robot, cannot do this for us.
So my advice to you is this - be your own intelligent agent!
